We had an amazing full day tour of the south of Iceland. Vladi was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, informative, patient and friendly. We saw a lot and never felt rushed. Vladi worked with us to plan an unforgettable itinerary and we had an amazing time! We were fortunate enough to spend four days in Reykjavik and went on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula tour, Extended Golden Circle tour (we added a stop at the Hvammsvik Hot Springs) as well as the Westman Island / South Coast Combo tour (long day but well worth it!). On our last day, Vladi transferred us to the Blue Lagoon for our Retreat Spa Day visit and finally dropped us off at the airport. Our group of 4 fit comfortably in the van, even with 8 bags of luggage in tow. We took the South Coast & Black Sand Beach Tour with Iceland Odyssey and I can say that it was, without a doubt, the day that we enjoyed the most in our trip to Iceland. Vladimir was an incredible guide, we had a full day tour with many places to visit and everything working perfectly so we were able to see all of the sights and be back with plenty of time for boarding our ship. To mention a couple of the places we stopped in, the Black Sand Beach is incredible, going behind Skogafoss waterfall was amazing, and Vladi told us about all the best spots to go to, like the second hidden waterfall close to Skogafoss and took us to wonderful lookout points to get the best views. It was so very interesting to learn about nature and geology in Iceland, which is highly varied and unusual, as well as about daily life in Iceland, we really valued these conversations. Booking with Iceland Odyssey was hands-down the best decision we made for our Iceland trip. From the very beginning, the experience was effortless—no small feat in a country where logistics can be tricky, especially when traveling to places like the Westman Islands. Our guide (and the company’s owner) provided an incredibly thoughtful, detailed itinerary well in advance, and he delivered on every single promise. We started our adventure before dawn with a smooth transfer to the ferry, arriving on the stunning Westman Islands by 8:45am. From there, we embarked on a full day of exploring: hiking Eldfell volcano, marveling at Elephant Rock, visiting puffin cliffs, and enjoying a delicious local lunch at Tanginn. We toured the fascinating Eldheimar Volcano Museum and even stopped by the SEA Life Beluga Whale Sanctuary. Every stop was meaningful, well-paced, and enhanced by our guide’s deep knowledge and passion for the region. After the ferry back to the mainland, we continued along Iceland’s South Coast with visits to Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, the Solheimajokull glacier viewpoint, Dyrhólaey peninsula, the striking Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, and ended with a cozy dinner in Vik. All in all, it was a full 18 hours of exploring—yet we never once felt rushed or overwhelmed. Every detail was accounted for: ferry tickets, museum admissions, meals, snacks, WiFi, and even optional pro photography—all included in the price. Our guide made the entire day feel personal and exciting while handling all the moving parts with ease. It was clear we were in expert hands. Iceland Odyssey turned what could have been a complicated DIY journey into a deeply memorable and easygoing experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Both tour days were amazing, we took so many pictures, and Vlad always walked with us to take a family picture at each spot. His van was spotless and comfortable, and he was flexible with what we wanted to do and see. He had water and snacks in the car each day, along with a printout of where we were going and information about what we were seeing and doing. We were so pleased that our son-in-law booked him to take us on our last day to another lagoon and wait, and return us to our hotel to get our airport transfer. Once at the airport, I realized I had left our passports in our room safe. We called Vlad, who dropped whatever he was doing and went and picked up the passports, and drove right to the airport to give them to us. We would have missed our flight if not for him! We had to force him to take any money, he said he was just happy to help us out! We took the combined Golden Circle and South Coast private tour with Vladi. Amazing sights in a very full day of touring! Vladi was quick in recommending key approaches at the stops so that we could see and do what we wanted. He took some great pictures of us at various sights too.
